Outstanding Educator Award and Lifetime Achievement Award

American Accounting Researchers & Educators is seeking nominations for two separate awards: Outstanding Educator Award and Lifetime Achievement Award. Both will be presented at the annual conference held in the spring of each year. AARE members may submit nominations. Self nominations are not permitted.

Award Nominations

The Award is intended to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to accounting education, accounting educators, and AARE’s mission.

Eligibility

The award is reserved for AARE members - Individuals who have held AARE membership for at least three (3) of the past five (5) AARE fiscal years. Through December 31, 2029, membership in the Southwest Region of the American Accounting Association shall be recognized as equivalent to AARE membership. In recognition of AARE’s recent establishment, nominations for the Award presented through the 2035 Annual Conference may also consider candidates’ historical contributions to the Southwest Region of the American Accounting Association (SW-AAA). This transitional provision acknowledges the foundational role of SW-AAA in the development of AARE and ensures continuity in recognizing long-standing service and achievement within the academic accounting community.

Nomination Packet Requirement

  1. A current Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the nominee.

  2. A letter from the Nominator describing the nominee’s qualifications.

  3. A letter from a current or former student of the nominee.

  4. Complete the online Outstanding Educator Award Form.

Nominators are responsible for submitting a complete nomination materials packet for consideration. Alternatively, nominators must coordinate separate document submissions from each responsible party. Incomplete nomination packets will not be considered.
